Description
Gabriel Veiz, an urban artist from Brazil, was born in 1986 and has been dedicated to contemporary art and street art since 1998. He graduated from the Federal University of Pelotas with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, specializing in painting, sculpture, and printmaking. Inspired by urban art and European graffiti, his work has evolved to incorporate elements of neoconstructivism and geometric abstractionism, reflecting the influence of these movements in his work. Veiz has participated in exhibitions and murals around the world, including the Bienal de Arte, Ciência e Cultura in Rio de Janeiro, as well as exhibitions in renowned galleries and museums both in Brazil and internationally (Italy, Bulgaria, Argentina, Antarctica, Canary Islands, Spain, Germany, Holland, Greece, Uruguay, museums in Brazil, including the Palácio das Artes in Belo Horizonte and the Leopoldo Gotuzzo Art Museum). In addition to his artistic career, Veiz has collaborated with renowned brands as a designer and illustrator, demonstrating his versatility and the recognition of his talent on the global art scene. With a style marked by originality and social awareness, Veiz teaches graffiti and painting classes for people with Down's Syndrome. Veiz's artworks are a vivid exploration of abstract geometry and urban-inspired motifs. Veiz plays with the dynamism of shapes, lines, and formats, balancing the sharpness of spontaneous graffiti and the meticulousness of abstract compositions. The color palettes vary, injecting each piece with its own unique emotional tone. There is a sense of movement and rhythm in the interaction of the elements, and the dripping effects add a layer of rawness and immediacy, recalling the transient nature of street art. Each piece seems to communicate its own narrative through the language of urban abstract expressionism, inviting the viewer to decode its intricate visual story.
